Tax Question

in Cutting tax
Hi,
I have two questions I'm wondering if anyone can help me with.
I have a tax bill for 2011 to 2012 of £2234 which I will pay upfront, then I also have a 'pay in advance' tax bill for 2012 to 2013 for 1900 half due 31 Jan 2013 and the other half due end of July 2013.
I'd like the tax department to spread out the £1900 sum over the following 12 months at £158 a month. (money to be taken from my PAYE salary) Is that allowed?
Secondly, I am currently full time employed(PAYE) and also do freelance self-employed tuition work. Do I still have to pay Class 2 National Insurance? Or am I strictly Class 1 now?
Thanks!

Upfront, we are now almost at the end of 2012/13.
If you are self employed you have to pay class 2 unless your income is lower than the exception limit
You have the option of paying the tax on your self employed profits through your tax code, see your tax return. The only thing that is constant is change.0 -
When I said 'upfront' I meant I will settle the £2234 in full. I'm just not sure if the £1900 I can pay in instalments?0
-
The £1900 is 'payments on account'. Can I pay that over the course of the year?0
-
Are Class 2 NICs payable throughout the year or only for weeks in which part time work is actually carried out?I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a self-satisfied pessimist0
