This is a good deal but Ovivo deal may be even better if you are a low user as it only costs £10 for the sim and that's it.
No need to top up unless you go over monthly allowance which is:
    100 Xnet mins,
    100 texts and
    400MB data.

Really? I have never heard of this company/sort of deal. Am I understanding it properly, you just pay the £10 once, and you get that allowance forever, even if you don't top up?

Thats right, you don't ever have to top it up. You get your allowance forever or until they go bust lol. They do change the allowances every now and again, both up and down.

My dad is in his 70's and has never had a mobile phone. I got him a phone for christmas, and got am Ovivo sim card for £10, and he gets so many free minutes and texts indefinitely without having to top up ever again. He is very happy with the service and has been using it with no problems. I am in the middle of swapping my mums phone to them and transferring her number. I think its an excellent deal, they have been going a while, but if they go bust in 6 months, I haven't lost anything, as they will have had their £10 worth. (You get a £2 credit for recomending someone too, so I got mums card for £8). Hope that helps.
  • Thanks, sounds great.
  • Thanks so much for this - £60 quidco tracked within a few hours too - great deal. :T

I'm just about to get a smartphone so thanks for that. I would never have known that.

If you don't mind me asking, if you shut data off, can you still use wifi?:o

Yes you just go into phone network settings and turn data off. On Android, get a widget on home screen to toggle thru wifi only / 3G data only / both / all off (the last saves battery yet still allows calls & texts of course)

Regrettably Apple have not yet woken up to the benefits of widgets.

Remember to PIN lock any phone connected to a Direct Debit acct. If it gets stolen, fraudsters make more money from racking up a huge bill than the value of the phone itself. And all because no mobile network is willing to place a simple monthly budget limit on your account.

Tesco offer capped contracts on all their tarriffs. Very easy to set up as well on their website.

Check out the user reviews on Orange on topcashback and start praying now :D

PS Don't be mislead by the 5 star ratings, the users have to do that to be firts in the list so the message actually gets seen. For the proper reviews choose 'Newest date first' in the drop down box. Really disappointed with TCB for defaulting their reviews to the highest rated first. Surely the most informative/helpful way would be to default to Newest First?
