I say that if they are happy to accept less then go for it, they can only say no can't they, you've nothing to lose.

Let us know how you get on, I've paid 5 of my creditors off this way although they were all less than a grand and each wanted around 60% but I think if you've a higher figure owing they may be liable to accept 50%.

    Good luck!

    Jo.

    Hi Jo

How where your creditors? What info did you have to supply to them to reach a settlement. I'm going to get letters out in the post today figures crossed .

  • To be honest I went through 6 months of crazyness becasue people close to me died etc and not quite sure how I got in so much debt, I think atleast £5,000 was charges as I just kept going Casino using cheque guarantee card and theyd hand over £100 cash - 3 casinos 3 different cards a day then Id gamble it and drink it. everytime getting charged £90 a day minimum - I was 18 and stupid. I dont gamble or anything anymore - and life is good except my gf is on about mortgages etc now and I just want debt over with so I can get a good credit record and if that means convincing banks to knock debt of then so be it. I barely have £50 a month to myself at moment with paying back debts. If my dad does it I will prfer paying him than them with stupid interest rates which make it impossible to pay back anyway. Banks/Casinos should be more in control fo your account once its over the overdraft limit - At some times I could barely stand let alone sign my own name. Its my fault and I'm going pay but if I can screw them it would be delightful
