advice on upping my income

hi all,
im looking for some advice or ideas for a flexible part time job. Im in the process of saving for a mortgage and could do with an extra few quid.
Im currently working full time but work shifts, 4 days on 4 days off and have 18 days off every 2 months, so i have a lot of free time to take on a 2nd job if its flexible as i cannot commit to particular days. ideally id like to have a part time job working for myself, any one got any ideas?
I also wanted to ask, if anyone on here has every tried these intensive courses in various trades and do they pay off?
you see them for every trade these days, im not daft and i no im not going to become a electrician after taking some ones 2 day course lol.
The course i seen was a 3 day window tinting course but the cost of it ran into 1000's and just wondered if anyone had ever tried anything similar and seen it pay off.
