Questions about BR day

Hello,
With BR day looming, just have a few questions..
1. Both husband and I are going BR at same time - do we each have to see judge alone or are we allowed to accompany each other for support?
2. Dress code - do we have to be smart as husband only owns jeans.. they are dark and look quite smart though..
3. We have been given advice from CCCS - Will court/ OR need ref number we were given by CCCS?
I have taken 3 x copies of 6.28 for each of us - is this enough?
Many thanks

Hello,
With BR day looming, just have a few questions..
1. Both husband and I are going BR at same time - do we each have to see judge alone or are we allowed to accompany each other for support? My wife and I saw the judge together.
2. Dress code - do we have to be smart as husband only owns jeans.. they are dark and look quite smart though.. Smart casual is fine, smart jeans will not be a problem.
3. We have been given advice from CCCS - Will court/ OR need ref number we were given by CCCS? No just the fact that you habe taken advice will be sufficient.
I have taken 3 x copies of 6.28 for each of us - is this enough? That is perfect.
Many thanks

Hi Lisa,
You will need to take :
3 copies of the debtors petition form 6.27 and 3 copies of your statement of affairs 6.28
DO NOT sign these forms before going to court as the signature needs to done at court.
It doesn't matter what you wear.0 -
You will also need to take £700 cash to pay the deposit on the petition and court fee's, they don't accept credit cards or cheques lol.
The judge does ask if you had advice etc but you shouldn't need reference numbers, you could always take them anyway just incase.0 -
My court accepted debit cards fine and took my charity cheque on the day. My court only needed one copy of the forms, each court is different. Yes, wear what you like. I did Jury service with a juror in the skimpiest shorts that didn't cover her derriere and the skimpiest top ever!
Not long now Lisa, you'll be fine."Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Dalai Lama0 -
Thanks everyone.. I had only signed all the forms!! I have re-printed and attached new blank ones now.
Think we are all set.. I know I am going to feel so ashamed on Fri, it will prob hit us then..
Dreading OR interview.. not me so much as I have been dealing with family finances but more for my husband.. he has let me deal with alot of things and is nervous that he will say the wrong thing.. we don't have speaker phone for call so I can't help him out.... is he allowed to say that I have been dealing with debts etc so will know more??0 -
When the judge stamps your BR documents you wont feel ashamed, getting your life back and seeing a light at the end of the tunnel is an indescribable feeling.
Don't worry about the OR interview. Most of the information is in your SOA, maybe go through it together before the interview, confer if you need to during the interview. The most important thing is to tell the truth.
Good luck to you both :-)
Come back to the forum for advice as you progress. This forum is an amazing help. I would have been lost and worried sick between the long spells of no communication from the OR.0 -
The court took my money I was in with the judge for about 5 minutes if that and spoke to the OR the next day, had my interview 2weeks later have just has through an IPA. There is nothing to feel ashamed about just think of it as a fresh start.Lost in space🚀0
