Clean credit record at last! Please recommend a credit card?

It's almost 6 years since my BR and so quite soon my credit record will at last be clean again and all record of any previous defaults will disappear.

I've had a couple of credit card accounts for about 3 years now which are aimed at people with a poor credit history, so they each have a high interest rate of about 30%. All my repayments have been on time, so these cards have been helping to build up my credit rating again.

However after 6 years, when my record is clean again, I would really like to be able to ditch these cards and apply for a lower rate card charging around 18%.

Has anyone in a similar position been successful in applying for such a lower rate card and could you recommend a provider?

I'd like some advice before making an application, since I want to avoid being turned down, which does not look good on your credit record.

Thanks
