I have a set just like this, bought from my local garden centre 2 years ago for £40 which was on offer at the time. Make sure you treat the wood with oil like this or they'll soon look kak.

I treated mine in year one, then didn't bother last year so now I've got my work cut out to make em look nice again.

I think this is the one he is referring to, cant quite tell if it has provision for an umbrella though.

I bought a large rectangular table & 6 chairs, 2 with arms, from No Frills, which is part of Focus, last Friday, reduced to £149.99. All in wood.

If you want to eat at the table this is a better buy

Anyone seen anything better (for a wooden table and at least 4 chairs)?

    Hard wood cleaner.

I own quite a lot of hardwood garden furniture as I have some holiday cottages that I let out. Unfortunately, we were unable to store the furniture under-cover last winter and now it looks quite weathered.

You can get some hard wood cleaning gunk that does the job (paint the goo on and then wipe it off). Works quite well and is quite quick but it's expensive.

I've also used a Pressure Washer to good effect but on flat surfaces that are really weathered - a Belt Sander is great. 10 minutes yesterday and a hexagonal table was back to bear wood. A couple of coats of oil and it looks great.

Thanks to the OP. Looks like a decent buy.
