Another cry for help!!

Hey,

I am currently in £6,927.79 worth of debt (see below for break down) and my main lender The CoOperative Bank have now started to become a little aggressive. I lost my job at the beginning of Jan and am now only in reciept of JSA (£90 every two weeks) and they have been informed and I am £925 unauthorised overdraft but every month my loan payments have been coming out even though I am over my agreed overdraft (£600) and now they have requested that I send back all my cards and cheque book which I don't have anymore.

I have started to deal with the debt problems I have I was in a little over £8k 6 months ago and now I have been able to get a new card with 0% balance for 13months so saving there but I just don't have any spare cash to make payments they are all requesting.

RBS £582.23 (Overdraft currently incuring charges)
Halifax £1,139.19 (Credit card - being transferred to new card v soon)
CoOp £925.79 (Unauthorised Overdraft)
Loan £3,715.29 (From co-op again not yet defaulted)
Clear Card £565.29 (Co-op - had no problems here as yet. Very patient department)

    hi dannyboi,
you could try the cccs website or the nationaldebtline website or the payplan website.cccs website is https://www.cccs.co.uk i think and it tells you step by step how to deal with your probs.all these sites have free fone numbers.someone will be along shortly to advise you of your options.might be worthwhile to open a bank account somewhere else and stop the loan payments from the a/c as whatever money goes into the loan a/c eg.wages, etc they will take towards your loan cos some are nasty like that.
hope it all goes ok.think the fone nos and websites i mentioned are on this website but im not very computer literate so cant tell you where but others will be along to help cos they are really good here.
People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with :)

As you are just on JSA there is little point in trying to juggle repayments. What you should do is write to your creditors and offer them £1 per month token payments until you manage to find a new job.

Better still, if you phone payplan, CCCS or get in touch with the debt advisor at the CAB they will be able to write letters on your behalf and deal with the creditors for you.

I would also open a new bank account so you have control of your money.

    Hi
Danny have you tried reclaiming your bank charges?
Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?
