Remortgage...

Hi all
I have applied for a remortgage and everything was going fine until the bank contacted my employer. I have worked for them or about 18 months and on a regular basis I work 45 - 55 hours a week. My employer has told the bank that I work on a zero hour contract so that has put the breaks on my remortgage. luckily I have a financial adviser who is helping me out with this one but can anyone offer any advice on this please. I have given them copies of my wage slips for the last few months. But it doesnt seem to make a difference.

Zero hour contracts means potentially no earnings. A win win for employers, and a huge negative for people like yourself.
To obtain a mortgage you need to at least establish a guaranteed regular income. So the the decision as to what to do is down to you.0 -
thanks for that.. I have proven my income because I have given my wage slips for the last year, which show how much I earn on a regular basis. Can I ask my employer to provide a letter to state that I usually earn a certain amount or that I usually work so many hours a week0

Very few people in this day of severe employment cutbacks and austerity have a guaranteed income. What will help is proof of a past record of regular income. As to the future..............0
