Nationwide Mortgage - Offer received - without Employer checks

I have applied for a mortgage with Nationwide 2 weeks ago, and I was advised by my broker that the mortgage offer has been issued last Friday.

However coming into work today, I have found an Employer's Reference Form in my PERSONAL mail folder. So obviously the request form didn't get through to the HR department... who obviously didn't provide any information to Nationwide with regards to my employment (i.e. length of service, type of contract, salary, etc...).

Is this common practice for Nationwide that they don't wait for employers before making the mortgage offer?

Could they be issuing this, in the hope that my employer will come back to them before releasing the funds?

I am not sure what to do... should I send the form the the HR department so that they can get back to Nationwide, or should I just leave things as they are now, considering the mortgage has been offered?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

No particular reason, only because according to my broker it is not necessary any more, considering that the mortgage offer has already been issued.

Hmm, just had confirmation from the bank (through the broker) that this is not needed anymore, strange, I guess I'll just wait and see.
