Please speak to your children's schools as soon as possible, in the morning if you can. Especially with your two smallest, speak to their 'key person' at and make them aware of the situation.

I was speaking to some Early Years lecturers last week and the EYFS framework puts responsibility on the care provider (child minder/nursery/school etc...) to make sure the child is properly fed.

I'm not sure about your oldest child but again speak to the school and ask about 'emergency free dinners' until your paperwork is done or you are able to pay them back. They are not going to see a child go hungry, you just have to be honest with them and they will help you.

Wow - what a completely ridiculous post. Congratulations for that.

"Local media" blah blah blah. Don't talk rubbish. If she is in a Crisis and shows it, she won't be refused one - but the fact she cannot afford to live as it is means she cannot afford A LOAN.

It would be wrong from an agent to pay a person a CL if they have have not the method to repay, or too afford.

So are you happy to know such people defrauding the social fund - you seem unbothered by it. Maybe you should report your scum friend for illegally obtaining money.

You are all that's wrong with claimants, it's there to HELP - not to abuse!

Wow. That post just fell out of the irony tree and hit every branch on the way down. :T

-Thankyou Benny for your reply. You will find that there have been 42 other posts to offer genuine help and advice to the OP in this thread but unfortunately yours brought that run to and end.

One wonders how you actually got here on this thread and i suspect that by inputting "crisis loan " in the search parameters, then this thread came up for you!
You have to be a bit of a detective in the job you do - don't you?

If anyone is interested in the line of work Benny does then please click on their username and find all their other posts!

Back to the subject: The OP has never asked for money - just food advice- suggests to me they are in genuine need!

the very fact that they have a crisis - you tell us is a reason then they will receive a CL.

then you tell us, however if they can't afford to pay it back (no timescale given) then, they can't get one!

Therefore those with money, can't get a CL, because they have money.
Those, that have no money can't get a CL ,because they have no money. Q.E.D.

Whilst you are here - Do you have any recipes for the OP ? or perhaps constructive advice to stave off malnutrition for the kids ?

Finally if you were able to read between the lines of my post, you would have worked out, that it was your department giving public money for alcohol and drug abusers that has somewhat irked me,whilst genuine people like the OP seem to be sidelined.

    Have a nice day!

    Hi,

Sorry to hear of your difficulties.

I would recommend you buy 2 bags of frozen meat-free mince (Mossies, T@sco and i think Sainsbubs all do their own versions), 2 bags for £3 plus a bag of red split peas.

Don't buy Tesco's own brand veggie mince - even my veggie daughter turned her nose up at this - the texture is far too chewy!! (unless theyve changed the recipe in the last two years)

Slowly....low heat either in slow cooker or in a saucepan.

The jelly like stuff that is left over is also good stock; probably very salty but good stock. And you can cut off the skin and use that as flavouring too. You can freeze both.

You can use it to flavour things like stovies, lentil soups, veggie stews etc. Taste it first and do not add any further slat until just before you serve.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

I cook a ham/pork hock quite a lot and I get mine from Morrisons.

I cook mine in a slow cooker and put it on early i.e. 9 am on high. I first remove the skin/fat (just my preference) and then put it in slow cooker with a handful of red lentils if you have some. I then add a stock cube and herbs (bay/rosemary/mixed) and cover with boiling water.

After a couple of hours I add a chopped onion/chopped carrots/parsnip/swede (anything you have got really that needs using up) also salt & pepper. After another 4 hours I add some chopped potatoes. By this time the meat should be falling off the bones. Leave bones in until before serving (this adds flavour). Check seasoning and vegetables and after 8 hours cooking(in total) it should be ready. Served with some bread this should give you a lot of servings.

    Good luck.
