No idea why the code changed, I never received any correspondence from HMRC that my tax code would change.
Might be an idea to phone HMRC and find out why you're on a non-cumulative tax code and see if you can get it changed.
You could also ask them if you are due any higher rate tax relief on the pension contributions unless you now think it's not due.0 -
I tried calling HMRC 4 times today, and was disconnected each time - too busy. Will try calling again tomorrow. I've worked out some basic calculations and according to my figures I am due some higher rate tax relief, less than I originally thought but definitely owed something.
I might even go into my local HMRC office, will be quicker than the call system.0 -
They might be a bit busy at the moment, I'd give it a week or two and things should be easier.0
