Itv comp question

I emailed itv asking what they would prefer us to write in the answer box when there it a text box to write the answer in, and they replied that they want us to write both the letter and the answer,
Ie, a. Up.
I was wondering if anyone had won one of those comps with only writing the letter or answer on their own.
What do you guys do?

If they have stated you need to fill both in, I'm guessing they will disqualify those without both bits.
I always put both on any comps that require an answer - But, was told it doesn't matter.
Really not too sure thoughDecember Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0 -
I always put the letter.
I can't see them disqualifying people who haven't done both... having said that i've never won with ITV.0 -
''they replied that they want us to write both the letter and the answer''
I don't know- That's what I assumed from that bit. If they have stated directly they want both. I would always put bothx

But some of their other comps have radio buttons with just A, B or C so in theory, it should be the same for their other comps.
Hopefully, all entries are put into the draw and answers are verified by a human instead of automatically being disqualified because they do not have clear instructions0 -
Ive done a mixture. I started off writing both, but then the posts on here says you can just write the letter so I did. Now I will go back to writing both. Thanks for finding that out.
I prefer the choice ones as I dont need to know the answer then and I certainly dont care what the answer is.Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday
Best Wins: Ipad, Nintendo 3DS, £400 Shopping Spree at LK Bennett, £100 Boots vouchers
Total Wins (Since April 2012) £3442.56
Big thanks to all who post comps :T:beer:0 -
When you text your answer in (taking The Chase as an example) it says send a SMS text to 88338 with A, B or C to indicate your answer to the question. I would assume you can use the same answering scheme for online entries.
The other thing to remember is that the person who has responded to the email may not know the proper answer and gave their own opinion on how to answer the questions.0 -
oh well i never have done-like above they should have all comps in the same format to avoid confusionWhat goes around-comes around0

Well, there is that... The responder didn't understand what I meant by the text box the first time round, told me to tick the button corresponding to the right answer, I had to reply saying he read it wrong.
I don't get why they can't just use the tick boxes.0 -
Sorry to bump, but I have always answered these ones with just the letter.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.090

Sorry to bump i emailed ITV and asked for further clarity and for them to change the T&C so it states both the answer and letter are needed if that was the case. I was advised that just the letter is fine or the answer or both. No answers are disregarded unless they are incorrect i.e you write C when the answer is actually B.
Im happy to write the answer and letter if needed hell I would be happy to do a naked rain dance if it gave me more chance of winning but they have confirmed just the letter is sufficient.Good luck everyone
