Malaysia is one of the most exciting, diverse and laid-back countries to visit in southeast Asia – as this month's lucky winner will discover on a luxurious, seven-night holiday

The winner and guest will fly to Kuala Lumpur and spend three nights in the sumptuous, five-star hotel, Palace of the Golden Horses. The couple will have time to explore this cosmopolitan city – from the traditional atmosphere at Petaling Street night market in Chinatown, to the contemporary, gleaming glass skyscrapers that project the city's spirit of progress.

From here, the pair will be whisked off to the exclusive island of Langkawi, to spend four nights at the Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort and Spa, Langkawi. The resort is surrounded by 30 acres of landscaped gardens and white, sandy beaches – an environment of total relaxation with stunning views. It also boasts a fine restaurant, creating an exotic mix of Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisine.

Superb beaches, lush rainforests and a tropical climate make Langkawi one of the most tranquil areas in Malaysia. Our winners could take a journey by boat through the mangrove trails that fringe parts of the island and provide opportunities to spot crocodiles and sea turtles. A trip to the coral island of Pulau Payar, meanwhile, would allow them the chance to swim with an abundance of tropical fish.
