I've made a bit of profit recently from buying a couple of things in charity shops and selling them on eBay. I bought a dress for £5 and it sold for £46! It has to be in good condition, and be be a good brand, maybe designer .. Brands which are usually expensive. Don't sell for less than you pay for it obviously! Tapestry kits are also good, people like to buy things to do crafts and it is normally pricey so they will look on eBay. Make sure you take good photos. In some categories, in clothes etc you can include many photos for free. Best to list on free listing weekend, there are normally 2 a month.. Check eBay news page every Friday.

If properly registered as a business on eBay there are no free listings so you need to build in listing costs as well when working out if it is worth it.

We have had 2 free listing times for our business accounts this year, not been the norm but looks like Ebay is wants to encourage the business sellers.

The main ones were for shops though and the most recent one was by invitation only- I don't have a shop and I didn't get an invite :(

Im off work today so will be using a portion of that to have a look through some charity shops and hopefully make a few extra pennies. It is difficult though, im pretty useless and tend to buy stuff that nobody really wants!! :-) im going to make an effort to look through the clothes & books though as i only usually tend to look at the bric a brac! Its much easier when you dont have a child in tow aswell as he easily gets bored and wanders off!
