  • A lot of handbags at dawn in here - renters in one corner homeowners in another its a battle to the end only one side can win, the [STRIKE]winners[/STRIKE] home owners will be carried through the streets

    Corrected that for you. ;)
  • The tragic thing is I keep telling Foxy it's unwise to keep sitting on his 70-80K deposit in an inflationary environment, with historically the lowest fixes and variable deals for those with low LTV and house prices stable at best.
Instead of doing the 24/7 MSE shift, he should be sitting down with a mortgage advisor, and quick.

No Foxy, this is not a dig, it's advice.

Yes that's how I always sign off on a thread if I'm addressing a moron.

Feel free to have the last word since I suspect you're the kind of chap who really needs it. I won't respond either way.

Reading your posts it came across as if you were waiting / saving to buy?

My mortgage deal ends this summer so I had a quick look this morning at rates... crikey. I hadn't realised how cheap they were now. Looks like I'll be fixing for 5 years with no fee for a rate of less than 3% per year and will be paying off my mortgage in super quick time.
  • I thought fella came across quite bitter in his posts, doesn't sound like he has attended many homeowners dinner parties?

I think both of you are probably too used homeowners smugly posting how great it is to be a homeowner or renters posting how they think the market is overpriced & being accused of being bitter.

I'm a homeowner who thinks the market is overpriced. Which isn't to say it may not stay that way.

Moneyinmypocket, you're confusing bitterness with me having no time for tw*ts on forums who post dull trollish nonsense.

It seems that saving is no longer the prudent, sensible and wise thing to do anymore.

Inflation affects everyone. The prudent react to the inflationary environment as it is; the imprudent react to the inflationary environment as they'd like it to be.

..always nice to have a game of bulls and bears though.

How much do you think the market is overpriced by then?

Do you meet the lending criteria though? Many people aren't.
