Supermarket 'recipes' for thier foods

Options
I tried Aldis recipe for 'Pulled Pork Shoulder with Ginger and Black Pepper' today. Followed the recipe (except I gave it 4 hours instead of 31/2!) Hmmmm, the pork itself was lovely - but disliked it with the serving suggestion of mash and veg!!!! my OH had the leftovers tonight with spicy wedges and said it was much better (the wedges were from Aldis - Sunday night is not a night I like to spend in the kitchen).

I have tried Aldi recipes in the past in some of them have been superb (I still make the pork in cider and cream sauce one -- OH loves it), some have been ok.

I was just wondering.............Have any of you OSers tried a supermarket recipe and loved it - or hated it?

About 15 years ago I picked up a recipe card from Waitrose.

Basically you fry some shallots, mushrooms and courgettes (I like to cut them into ribbons using a peeler) then add a pot of half fat creme fraiche and a good handful of grated parmesan and lots of black pepper. Then stir it through pasta along with some parma ham. It is delish.

I have modified it over the years to make it cheaper so now I use half a normal onion and chopped streaky bacon instead :D

I done one of the philly recipes that came on the back of the tub.It was a pasta recipe with bits of sausage meat made into balls ,fried and then added to the sauce. Was nice but far too strong and used too much philly Although that was prob the aim making me have to buy more
Was ok but wouldnt really make it again would rather make a sauce with cream and wine for me pasta and th sausage just made a mess so would be tempted to use mince and put that into balls
We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars
