    Provided you apply in joint names yes - but bear in mind you will not get onto a mortgage till you are 18.
    As far as I am aware the two year rule still applies, but this is easy to check - just ask the council for their information/ application pack.

    You might also like to speak to a solicitor, they often give first appointment free and you will likely need one if you are going to buy.

    Also watch your council tax. The council can block your purchase if there are serious arrears
