did he have PPI for a start? sounds like he doesnt know, so how does he know it was mis-sold? insurance isnt refundable just because you had it. there is also nothing wrong with mortgage ppi.0

thanks for replying.. he cant remember, it was over fourty yrs ago when he got the mortgage.. and dont think he has any paperwork at all.. he paid his mortgage to the council.. where would i start to see if he had a cliam?0

i would assume he would have took it out (ppi) cos wouldnt that be the sensible thing to do?0

Then why is he complaining of a mis-sale if you agree it was sensible? You cannot simply claim back the money because you want to. There has to be a valid reason for mis-sale.
Your father obviously cannot have a legit complaint that it was mis-sold if he doesn't even know he had it to begin with.Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0 -

He would have to have a provable reason for reclaiming anything,
I think your clutching at straws to be honest.
There is no such thing as PPI on a mortgage, It is MPPI and it is normally taken out to protect the mortgage payment against the demise of the buyers in case of death so that the mortgage would be paid off, a damn good idea.
I really dont think he has a leg to stand on.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

PPI didnt exist then.
However, even if it did, mortgage PPI is generally regarded as the one PPI that is worth having. It has the lowest number of complaints of any type of PPI and the lowest uphold rate as well.ok hes not complaining or anything like that..!! i
That is exactly what he would be doing. Putting in a complaint.how could i find out if there was ppi on his mortgage...
Look at his bank statements. However, give it up. 40 years ago is way before regulation and before the product was available and there is no way any application for insurance that is no longer in force would still exist from 40 years ago.Brunel franklin. telephone SPAM REMOVAL free phone.this company do a search for you,on a no win no fee. They trace back 15 years some cases further back.check with the council your father bought the house from. You could also check from your deeds which soicitor delt with the mortgage compleation.check re:deeds to see if your dad had any ppi. No they do not. There is no register of data like that for them to check. The data is not in the public domain.
