  • Updating to keep momentum

Nothing much happened money wise this week but I have been working away so not spending on food.

I put a couple of things on ebay last week that finish this weekend. I doubt I will get much more than a tenner for both but rather than just throw it away without noticing I am putting it in the savings.
The odd tenner here and then will add up eventually :)

oh and I have started on the champix. Early days so still smoking but its on its way out.

Very good news for me this week :j I got a very unexpected £1000 bonus.

I have transfered it straight into my EF which will make a big difference to the time before I start paying down big style.
EF standing at £8K now taking into account the £5K needed for the ensuite. Want to get to get to 12K EF then its on with the mortgage

Had a very busy work week so having a lazy saturday reading through the forums and watching Mr Selfridge episodes :o

I have a huge list of things to do tomorrow though so may regret the nothing day

Having a lovely day tootling in the house today :)
pjs on and will probably stay on for the day :o

Thinking about the idea alchemilla and Lois use with the grateful list which is so good for focusing on what we already have rather than just planning for everything to be good in the future

On the same lines I am a great believer in what goes around comes around and one of my favourite ever films is Pay it Forward (check it out if you havent seen it) The basis of the film is to just to carry out random acts of kindness every day or as much as you can.

I used to do this lots but have let it go for some reason so my challenge this week is to bring this back.
When I was doing this regularly my most memorable one was paying a bridge toll for the person in the car behind me (it was only £1.00 at the time) the feeling was great and it has made me smile for years since.

So I will be picking this up again tomorrow as soon as I am back in the human race

    Update day for me :D

Its a gorgeous sunny saturday here today so really should get moving and do something.
Work been so busy this week that I have taken Monday off just to be able to breathe for a day.
Planning to use this day as a declutter day - I have plenty of rooms that need that. Hopefully will find some things to put on ebay for the house fund.

Money wise this week I have managed to squirrel around and "find"

    £35 in my paypal account
£37 in a long since used savings account

Both have gone into my EF so will change the signature today.

Other good news for me is that I have now paid my last £200 payment off my intrest free card which now means I owe nothing on credit cards :j:j:j:j
From April I will be able to put the £200 into my savings as I havent missed it for the last 8 months so it can disappear into my EF instead

Thats about it moneywise for me so now I'm off to enjoy a long (cheap) weekend off :)

Just read your thread Iced Bun, fab news about the card, well done for waving that goodbye!

Just wanted to say good luck with the cigs. Just imagine that money going into your account every month, lovely!

I'm another fan of transferring all but the essential amount straight into savings. I HATE having to transfer it back so it helps me keep on the straight and narrow. And I keep a max of £10 in my purse too!

Thank you v1ckyt and Yes it felt really good. It represented some tough times for me when work was very short on the ground and I had to live off credit which is my worst nightmare. To see it gone is a celebration of what I have achieved in the last year or so :)

I'm exactly the same once money is in savings it is gone in my mind so it is better for me to pay my savings accounts as soon as I get paid then manage with the remainder. I rarely have more than a tenner in my purse either

Thank you for your thoughts on the dreaded weed - I have been taking the Champix and am cutting down but ultimately I just need to bite the bullet and stop very soon so watch this space :)

Cleaning day today again (is there anything more exciting to do at the weekend ) but it is free and I may dig something else to sell later on
