Paper Round

I was thinking of doing a paper round, i have seen an advert in my local telegraph it's part of one of these thisis.... websites, would I have to declare this to tax office and benefits office etc.. I'm not sure of what the rules are for this type of work activity?

Not sure what benefits you are on but i would imagine a paper round is not many hours work a week so would probably fall under the required hours for any benefits like job seekers to be affected but will keep you fit and give you a bit of extra cash. Worth chatting to someone who deals with benefits to clarify though. See if you can get a paper round first and take it from there
  • I once worked on delivering my local 'freesheet' weekly newspaper. Payment was in cash and the agent who paid me said that as practically all their delivery people were schoolchildren the company didn't submit any details of individual 'employees' to the tax people. He said it was up to me and my conscience whether I declare it or not:o

Good Luck in getting a job. I enjoyed it, it was fun and good exercise.
  • I don't think it should effect your benefits too much?
