  • The builder is not a priority debt compared to the mortgage, I am sure they will be more willing to let it slide a few days and be more willing to negotiate than the mortgage company.

    Not for the OP obviously, however the builder has bills to pay.

    No offence but posts like yours are typical.

    Why should the builder wait, when you go into Tescos and do your shopping you don't walk out saying "Sorry but I'm a bit strapped for cash this month.I will settle up next month.

    If the agreement is the OP pays upfront on an agreed date then I hope they stand by the agreement. Cashflow to a small business is critical and If I were the builder reading this thread,alarm bells would be ringing.

    Likewise a mortgage lender who is advancing a large sum of money based to a high degree on trust.

    If completion was pulled. Would be an expensive mistake made.
