What's worth buying in Morrisons?

I am going to go to Morrisons today to pick up some bags of almonds as mentioned on another thread.
Now, as I don't ever shop there, I don't want to miss a bargain! I went to our nearest store a few years ago, but thought it was pretty expensive, so haven't gone since (it is a fair wee drive away). They have now knocked down the small one and built a huge one instead, so worth a visit.
So, all you Morrison's regulars, what do I not want to miss?
I am happy to buy Basics ranges, love whoopsies, or anything that is a good offer. I hate buying anything that I think I could possibly get elsewhere.

The only thing I buy in Morrisons is their drinking chocolate (in bag rather than jar)
I will pick up any bargains or whoopsies while I am there though0 -
Are they likely to have many whoopsies? I intend to go as soon as I have finished watching the tennis, so maybe about 11am.
And where do they normally have them? I know each store is different, but I have lost count of the times I have wandered around a 'new' supermarket, unable to find either the reduced fridge, or dry goods shelf!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I have seen people queueing behind the person putting the labels on at 9am so I don't know how many will be left by the time you get there
They keep moving the locations about last time the dry goods were in the aisle with the soap powder and the fridge foods were beside the cheeses, there was also a section in the meat counter but the reductions there were not enough to tempt me.
As I only go there about once every couple of months and it is just for the one thing, I don't mind getting there as the shop onpens and having a wander around while it is quiet.0 -
Thanks Torbrex. Is their drinking choc that good then? I usually just use cocoa powder to make up hot choc for the kids, but if theirs is good enough that you go just to get it, I may be tempted!
I'm afraid that the lure of bargains if I get there early isn't enough to tempt me away from the tennis though......... I'm hoping that all the other bargain hunters will be having a lie-in on a Sunday or doing like me!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Its not 'THAT' good but it is good enough that I don't need to spend twice as much on any of the brand names and I don't particularly go out of my way, it is just a short walk across from Aldi's so I pop in when I am sometimes there on a Sunday morning0

Some of the value (savers) stuff we buy regularly - tissues, kitchen towel and loo rolls, biscuits (bourbons, digestives nice), crumpets, flour, sultanas, soya milk, oats, tinned tomatoes. We didn't like their teabags much (Sainsburys basics tea is great tho, makes a good strong cuppa). Last week our local M had toasted sesame oil for £1 (was £1.59) and Haribo Funny Mix (vegetarian) half price 50p.0

Ours only does reductions later in the day.
They tend to have a meat offer each week which can be worth checking out - they don't do online shopping but worth a look at there offers on their website before you go
Just seen pork shoulder is half rice 2.25 kg this week so I might pop in on my way home from lidl!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Thanks guys. I will have a look at their basics ranges, but as I do my main shop at Aldi now, I haven't come across much that can compete, especially with things like biscuits. I fancy getting the Haribo though!
Had a look on their website Rachbc, but nothing leapt out at me.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

They had a great offer on this week for tetrapacks of tomatoes - plain or with garlic, chilli etc. Its their finest type range - normally 89p each but three for a pound.
Unfortunately their website is rubbish for looking for things - have told them but although they made some changes you still cant search and have to go through long lists under each category. There is one bit of special offers at the top worth a look though.
I don't find much there in reductions - well not that reduced anyway.
Happy Shopping!0 -
Can I ask how much are the almonds in Morrisons? Don't usually shop there but am on a healthy eating plan at the moment and it costing me a fortune! Need some good priced foods to snack on. Found some good reductions in Holland & Barrett yesterday as the nuts where near the end date.0
