Hi - I have my credit report to hand and its displaying lots of lovely red 8's!!

Anyhow, the question is, Barclaycard has me as a default. They sold the debt to 1st Credit in March this year. 1st Credit have also put a default entry onto my file around the time they brought the debt. So I have 2 defaults for the same debt from different companies. I do not know how 1st Credit can issue a default when they had only just brought the debt in March and no payment plan is in place (nor was at the time of the default) so I cannot default on something that is not arranged. Both companies entries show I defaulted on Nov 2006. Can this happen - have 2 entries for one debt? Its not the only one this has happened with on my file.

Also, 2 catalogue companies have me as defaulted but cannot supply me with a signed CCA. Can they default on these as well??

I am not interested in cleaning my report for more credit, far from it. But I want my report to be fair and right (good or bad).

Hi there, when I had a query on my credit file, I rang credit expert and they went through everything quite thoroughly with me and advised me what to do. I got quite upset when I was on the phone and the girl at the other end had the patience of a saint, so it may be worth giving them a call and seeing if they can shed any light on it?

Hi charlotte, we too have had problems with numerous defaults showing that we didnt think were quite right. I called callcredit up and they were great about it - as hypno says, they will be willing to explain anything to you that you are unsure of. If there is an error at all, your best bet is to contact the company in question, and then contact the reference agencies asking them to correct your file. All the best in sorting it out hun x
