After a win, have you had to promote it?

Hi

I have been reading the terms and conditions of lots of comps and a lot say that they may ask you to do promotional related publicity for winning the item.

Anyone had to do this?

I would be anxious enough to win a prize on a radio lol, Would hate to be on tv or to go to a photo shoot lol

Only once in the whole time I've been comping.
It was for a trip to Top Gear Live & all I had to do was to write a report for the web site.A couple of events piccys were needed as well.

I've never had to, but always assumed they just mean send them a pic of you holding the prize or something.

Yeah, I won with Quiet Mark last year and the company that supplied the fans wanted pictures for their marketing (Mum wasn't too keen though!)

I've also had my video on Rio Rosa after I came runner up in their Ipad comp last year... Which I didn't mind.

I've been asked for winners quotes too - a few lines

I don't mind doing it, I blog too so I like giving companies a bit of promotion if I have won something, a little note or picture is a great way to promote for them
The only time I would refuse is if I won EuroMillions :P - Haha Like that will happen

I won a lot of Nectar points and they sent a photographer to my home.He was a real professional and took lots of photos of me holding my Nectar card,in the house and in my garden .......Nectar chose one to use on a leaflet that was in all Sainsbury stores:o:o They sent me all the photos, and have to say they are the best photos of me I've got....:)
I had a fantastic win last year , it was originally Eurostar tickets and 1 night in Paris and tickets to the French Open....it turned out to be 2 nights in a 5* hotel near the Eiffel Tower, arriving Friday afternoon,chauffeur driven on the Saturday to centre court ( Phillipe Chatrier)in a private box, front row seats and ALL the trimmings....food,drink and just about anything else you would need on a hot day....sun hat, sun cream etc....car back to the hotel when I was ready to leave, and all the next day in Paris...felt like a film star mixing with lots of famous peeps watching Nadal and Sharapova, amongst others.....and they asked if I wouldn't mind writing a few lines and posting a few pics on their Facebook page....'MIND'...it was an absolute pleasure !!!

When we won our wedding in the Bahamas we had to do lots of publicity for it but we didnt mind, we felt like celebs for a short while lol. We were on you tube with various bits of footage, and had lots of newspaper footage in the bahamas and back home. The wierdest thing was while we were in the Bahamas we had a german tv crew following us and they made sure they had permisson to follow us but they were so keen and didn't give us a spare minute - even when we were sunbathing they were there with their cameras.

The most embarrasing part of all of it was when the bahamas tourist board sent us the footage that the german crew had filmed - it was on prime time german tv on a saturday night and showed me struggling to get into my dress, the zip wouldn't fasten and I remember the american camera guy having to help my bridesmaid fasten me up - the german crew made it out to be a big dramatic moment and put jaws music on as if it was a really traumatic experience - we laugh about it now but half the german population must have seen my wedding day and seen the stressful times before I actually got married - it was so emabarrasing but at least we have some video memories to look back on lol

Only thing I've ever been asked to do is send a piccie into Take a break and say how I felt when I won £1500 of Amazon vouchers. Bit embarrassing as I don't photo well but little bother for all the fun of shopping after!

Oh my god!! I wouldn't be able to stop laughing at the shark music thing haha! At least it was only played in Germany lol
