Interesting, you may be giving too much info so think about stoping and maybe edit a post or two.
The key to resolving this is to understand the motivation behind the change this may be less than obvious.
Who is driving it, what is their motive.
I won't repeat all the signs.
The other angle is as an employee she might have a covered disability was htis known about before she started?0 -
I can see your point. The main issue is that service contract did particularly specify that the person engaged to undertake the role should be an "employee" of the company. I suppose technically they're now correcting that! But this is why we're thinking about challenging this, because the lack of notice period or redundancy has left us on a limb really (not that it would be much, but squeezed times).
Yes, we hired someone self employed to do this until we found someone permanently. That has now happened.
Job done.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

The director is driving this move, and the decision was made very quickly and for financial reasons. I know this because I found out from my line manager, whom has a very good relationship with myself and the director. I'm 100% it isn't personal (this director has just promoted me).
Not sure about the disability. They definitely knew about it, but I doubt they knew the details.
@SN: Yes, bluntly, you are right. Apart from that the mooted replacement will have been at the company nearly as long as her. But by incorporating the role into their job and relieving my wife they are obviously going to make more money from the contract now.0
