Good morning people, newbies and old timers!
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:
Today I have/will be (includes some from after I posted yesterday)
- went into the city and avoided going into the shops to just have a look at the summer stuff
- sending everyone off with packed lunches
- having a NSD
- doing a mystery shop
- keeping my spreadsheets up to date
- making a storecupboard dinner
Have a good day everyone x

I have cancelled my contact lens scheme, saving myself £15 a month. I have a stockpile of unused lenses to wear before I need to start thinking about an alternative, a few months worth at least! :j0

Hi Hypno et al,
I've had my best MSE day ever - Bank have agreed to pay back £3,120 of charges!!! woo hoo!!
Also- had a NSD
- Came home for lunch
- Raiding freezer for tea
- Baking cup cakes instead of buying cakes for after tea!
- posted letters to all credit cards requesting list of charges
That's it - I've been bitten by the MSE bug and there's no stopping me!!DFW #414, MoneySaver, Income Booster
