Dooyoo.....

On one of my reviews someone pointed out that I was reviewing a lot of electrical products, I calmly pointed out that as a student, there is one set I use at uni, and there is a set back home.
Then another member said that I shouldn't review products belonging to other family members. however, I still spend 5 months of the year at home.
Not to mention we've had most of the appliances for years, and I have been cooking most of my own meals, because my mother is gluten-intolerant, one of my little sisters is really fussy, the child we're fostering at the moment seems to be allergic to everything and my Dad works really weird hours.
I would consider the appliances at home to be jointly owned by the family as a unit, considering we live together and that I use the appliances often enough to be able to review them.
One of my reviews for an appliance has been locked and rereading it, this is the only issue I can see DooYoo having with it.
tl;dr: Assuming you spend at least 5 months of the year with the appliances and they are owned by your family whom you live with for that time, and you use them extensively and have done so for years, would you consider it appropriate to review them?

  • Dooyoo must have changed their rules, in recent years. They never used to ask if you owed the product being reviewed. Some reviews were along the lines of: "I used it once and it was so rubbish I never used it again."

Personally, I wouldn't see a problem reviewing anything that you have personal experience of... but I don't run the review site! And I haven't used Dooyoo in years. You'd be better off clarifying it with their helpdesk.

If you are quite a prolific reviewer, have you ever considered blogging your own reviews? There amazingly seems to be a market for bloggers who do nothing but review random things, frequently things that are sent to them by companies specifically that purpose. There also appears to be a market for these "review bloggers" to host product giveaways or competitions too. Mind you, these days, no matter how odd a product, service or job you can think of, 9 out of 10 times you can google a pre-existing version... How times change.

When they say 150 word reviews it needs to be 150 reviews of just personal opinion. So if you are writing 150-160 word reviews some of those words are taken up just describing the product. I'd recommend writing 500+ word reviews to ensure that you are always hitting the minimum personal opinion of 150 words after describing the box and the product and things like that.

If you want some more pointers just feel free to read some of my reviews, username katykicker, I've wrote something like 2000 and made about 4k+ from there now so it is definitely worth another try!
