Job interview - salary expectations?

If there 10 people to choose from I would say its the employer dictating the wage level rather than a negociation.

I certainly wouldn't mention salary unless the interview asked what I would be looking for in which case I would say something along the lines of "well I am currently on £x but it's more important to me to be in the right role than the salary". or maybe "the money isn't really an issue it's this actually job/position which appeals to me". then if you get the job, work at excelling in it and then after 6 months negotiate a wage review.
