Hi folks
I want to download an iplayer programme onto my Nexus 7. I don't think the Android app allows you to download however.
I've had a look at the iplayer site on my laptop and there's 3 download options -
For iplayer desktop
for Windows Media Player
For portable devices
I clicked on "for portable devices" and tried to transfer it to my tablet using Airdroid but it didn't seem to work.
Is there not a Windows Media Centre app i can download for my tablet, so, in the same way that everything in WMC on my laptop is also on WMC on my Xbox.
I'd be grateful for any advice
cheers

The new mobile downloads feature is initially available on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices running iOS 5.1. We will be bringing this feature to Android phones and tablets soon, and are looking at making downloads available on other devices in the future.
More here and here. :whistle:0 -
They said that back in September last year. I think the BBC's definition of "soon" is different to other people's

There must be a way i can transfer a download from my computer to my tablet surely.0 -
I think you just need to hold tight and wait for this feature to come to Android. The BBC explained how developing for Android is more difficult/complex than for iOS due to the sheer amount of different devices on the market. Sadly, this means features tend to arrive later on Android.0

Did you play the file before transferring? I remember vaguely ages ago it told me to play it before transferring to gain the licence, but iirc I never managed to get it to work properly.0

There were several third-party apps on the Market 2-3 years ago... until the Beeb told them to sod off.0
