Got in around midnight and as i reversed into my parking space i heard a noise like my exhaust was lightly dragging along the floor. Moved forward and back and it kept doing it so got out and looked under the car and theres nothing there!!
Took it for a drive and it making some right nasty noises like rattling some ball bearing around in a baked bean tin. I thought at first there was a piece of grit stuck between the shield and brake disc but the sound wasnt right for that.
Drove it home and jacked it up, dropped it in gear and started it up so i could have a listen with the wheel rotating. What a god awful noise it was making so dropped the wheel off and did the same again but shining a torch in the gaps but theres nothing there! No stone, no bit of grit, nothing rubbing etc. By now I'm thinking one of the ball bearings in the wheel bearing or gearbox has broken up.
Grabbed some tools and popped off the caliper and the disc just to eliminate tham and be sure. Odd....sure I heard a bit of grit drop on the floor as the disc slid off. Fired up the car with no disc and caliper on and no rotating noise anymore! Refitted disc and caliper and all is good!
Turns out this farty bit of grit no more than 6mm across was sitting in the gap between the inner flange and the hub. At speed centifugal force kept it in place so anything over 20mph it was silent!
Bloody cars, but happy with the outcome on this occasion!
Bet your neighbours love you, FK. :rotfl:

Had to take my boots back to Asda yesterday as they are too small on the calves for me
can't even zip them up - which is strange because the ones I bought last year are fine. Tried some more in-store but all the same, so must be a different fitting to last years.
Jewellery shop next door, buying gold, so went in for an estimate. Only offered £235 for the stuff that had been quoted £345 - 360.
So asked what price per gm. Just about the same as in previous quote. So I says thats funny, been offered lots more how did you work that out?
Oh! how much, lets see what we can do then.
Goes away and comes back, yes you can have £350.
How come you can change it so much I asks.
Well I put one in as 9ct and it should have been 18ct:mad: Robbing Shop.
She had checked the ct in-front of me before going off to weigh them.
Walked out and will tell everyone not to use this shop.

Just thought I would chip in with an old saying my dad was forever saying. Basically if when us boys were young (pre 16 kind of time) and we come down stairs after having either strip washed/bathed or whatever and we were going out somewhere he would always say "Did you wash behind your ears ? " A funny quirky old saying indeed and I don't recall anyone else ever saying that lol.
WE were always told to wash behind our ears otherwise we'll get spuds growing there:rotfl:
The area behind the ears is naturally greasy and can accumulate dirt and smell:o. Could be why in the times that people didn't wash that often ladies put a dab of perfume there and still do...don't they? Or am I making this up?:rotfl:Awaiting a new sig0 -
Oh thats not good:(:(Fingers crossed they sort it soon..
Alfie is off to the vets later for a check up, hes not going to be very happy though as I don't think he'll want anyone prodding him:(Hes eating and drinking now but really needs to put on weight because he looks a bit skinny now:(This was him last night, still feeling a bit sorry for himself;)
Lost my work internet so having a nightmare morning:( and quickly nipped indoors to use the house one;)
ahh bless him hope his check up goes wellI hope you got the results you wanted
I did :j
I'm moving onto the Professional papers next
Congratulations :j:j:jWe don't have 4G yet. Tyneside to the north, Leeds area to the south and Darlinton to the West are the closest at the moment. Don't know why a small place like Darlo has it before the large Teesside conurbation in our area.
