    It's still a decent deal at £5

ohhhhhh, i see, thank you so if i tried 2 green thai currys and any 2 sides plus fillers that would be ok?

    TIA

We always had a landing light too but I thought it was clever you comparing it to runways and planes :D

my nan and mum always say landing light (meaning upstairs )

and passage light (meaning down stairs hall)

Finally coming out of the closet! Been viewing MSE since about 2008 but only occasionally droppingin. Only ‘stumbled’ across the ELITElate last year (after I was made redundant and had lots of spare time tobrowse) and have become totally addicted. Just want to say a huge thanks to the generosity of everyone who posts, sharing all their valuable info on money saving and other tips. I have already become much more savvythanks to you guys. Also, I love how kindyou all are to one another, well most of the time :)

    Hi and welcome

Another thing my mother used to say if the house was in a mess...' this place looks like poosy's house' never did find out who poosy was either :rotfl:

I have had to replace the Us in that with oo because it comes up as a rude word:eek:
  • Some funny sayings my Aunt used to say (she passed away on 29th December 2012) we all used to have such a laugh at them !

"Her, she wouldn't call the Queen her Auntie! " meaning the lady thought she was very posh.

"My a**e knows more about boiling snow than he does about (whatever the subject was at the time) meaning they didn't really have a clue !

"That would give your a**e the toothache" meaning is something i.e. a TV programme which was particularly bad !

There were so many more but thats all I can remember just now !

Afternoon. Just logging on to say hello and to give hugs to those that are in need of one.

We have a "big light" in the living room too.... And my DS (aged 3) calls it that too :rotfl:

When i was a stroppy teenager, my mums favourite saying was "your face would stand clogging" I never understood that one but I do now. another she favours is "I need putting in a bag and shaking up"
    Tiger
