Techie answer - chances are you have set up your iPhone, iPad or PC with POP settings rather than IMAP (or IMAP not set on the server correctly). With IMAP it effectively caches messages on the phone, tablet or computer - when you make a change, it replicates that change on the server (so delete on phone, delete on PC). With POP, it pulls the message down as a local copy onto your device but does not replicate this back on the server.

With Googlemail (other services are available ...), when you log in and go to settings (the cog icon at top right of screen, then Settings>Forwarding and POP/IMAP) there are settings under there as well which affect what happens when you pull the messages down.

In the past I had my iPhone set as IMAP and my PC as POP (so that I always had a backup) - I have since changed both to IMAP as like you I got fed up with deleting messages on the phone, only to have to delete them again on the PC! (on Google the messages are still available anyway under All Mail!).

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this Anon. I think this may be the answer as when I go into settings on my phone for one of my email accts it does say POP. Have to check them all and then see how on earth I change them. Thank you :A

While I'm still waiting for David. to make me smile. :p

A quick update on my mum. She was bit upset when I got there that she had been asleep all day, and said she felt really poorly. But after a cup of tea and sandwich with fruit salad and ice cream for afters she picked up a bit. :)

5 minutes later she could not remember having a cup of tea, so I said she could have another if she wanted it, she seems to think she has to wait for the trolley to come around like when she has been in hospital before. But I told her I was allowed to go and make her anything she wanted so she said she would have another, poor thing must have been so dry it did not touch the sides. And before I left she had a mug of horlicks too, kept saying how lovely it was, I did not tell her I had made it with full fat milk. ;) She always asks for it with just water at home.

Anyway to stop boring you all anymore, she was pretty settled and much happier when I left and so was I. :):):)

Hugs Tinyshoes - hope your mum stays comfortable today :A

    Morning all.

And... the prize for naughtiest dog of the year goes to .... Alfie lutzi1, for stealing a fillet steak from the kitchen counter when his mother's back was turned, thus sabotaging his parents' hopes of a nice dinner together.:mad::mad:

Runner up was Jakie lutzi1, caught licking the wrapper in his basket. After a short sharp visit from the smack fairy and an evening/ night spent in the kitchen, Alfie is now contemplating the error of his ways.

And now, a message for Alfie from our sponsors...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaNzxniXxYE

Sorry Lutzil but that made me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We had a labroador (Sandie) many years ago and she would eat anything she could reach - I opened a tin of salmon one day, put tin in bin and when I turned round the salmon was gone. Love the guilty photos :)
