Bullying senior staff

A college put a complaint in to their manger that they was being bullied and a third party said the person bullying made a comment which i wont go into detail but they wasnt happy with.
When the comment was checked out the third party said it wasnt said or ment how it was took. When the college found this out they got angry and shouted and now they being looked into for being intimidating a senior person.
Can a senior person do this or shouldnt they just warn him or caution him?

Yes they can - your colleague behaved in a disorderly fashion."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Yes, your colleague can't get angry and shout at anyone at work.
The disciplinary process may well end up with a warning - this might be verbal, written or final written, but they can't do this without investigating what happened, can they.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -

That is overstating it a bit, even these days!
It is all a question of degree and, to some extent, what is normal behaviour in this particular workplace.0 -
They got angry because they didnt agree with what was being said and didnt think they were being taken seriously.maninthestreet wrote: »Yes they can - your colleague behaved in a disorderly fashion.0 -
That's no excuse for shouting at someone.
We all get angry sometimes at work. You still have to act professionally. I was quite amused to hear recently that my team always know when I'm angry as even though my tone of voice stays the same, my eyebrows start shooting up and down, lol.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
