So, just to check I've understood this correctly, I could use 30ml of soda crystals and 60ml of non bio to do my washing? I normally wash on 40 degrees. We also use cloth nappies so would this be suitable for using for them?A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step...0

I do a heaped tbsp with a cap of washing liquid, and I have sensitive skin too. I have to be careful which washing powders/liquids I use.0

I am new to using them too. Remember my Mum using them a lot but I thought they didn't exist anymore till I saw something on here. So I am just doing a trial and error thing for myself.
But I did notice there is a long and informative discussion on them on this link which may help with your question.

I use about 2 tsp soda crystals and 1 of soap flakes. We have a newborn and no problems on skin. Stains get a little washing up liquid rubbed in before going in the washer. Colours get half hour cool wash. Whites hottest long wash. Had no problems with washing looking/smelling clean and fresh.Love and compassion to all x0

I use soda crystals with borax and soap flakes, i did have quantities (im sure it is on the thread about the gloop) but now i just add abt 1/4 packet to half a packet of soap flakes and then aby half the amount of borax of what i done with soda crystals.
We dont have any problems, skin wise, my son has extrememly sensitive skin, got what looked like chemical burns from using 'normal' soap powder. i sometimes add soda crystals to ecover to make it stretch, but i havent bought any for over a year now.
I add essential oils in the softner drawer, tea tree/lavendar for towels and bedding or when we are ill, lemon for whites, cinnamon for reds and when im feeling flowery, patoulie (sp) oil.Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb
