XP & old software don't match!

Everything seems much slower since updating to XP, even though I was assured it would be much quicker. I was using windows ME and aol 9 before and was quite satisfied with the speed of everything, but now, it takes 6-10 seconds after clicking on an email for it to open, and longer when logging onto websites and waiting for links to open - drives me nuts! Any advice?
when your computer is running slow, try 'alt+ctrl+del' this will bring up a menu 'windows security', select task manager, select processes tab, then 'cpu' label, this will sort the processes into cpu time usage order. make a note of which process are using the most cpu time, then do a search on the interent.
I suspect you may have a trojan on your machine, especially as it appears very slow opening emails.
What email software are you using?
What version of internet explorer are you using?
Do you have windows XP service patch1 installed ? (right clik and properties on my computer on the desktop
(do not install service patch2!)smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....
