Hi everyone and thanks for the recent post not answered by me.
I had not been back to the site for a few days, 2 reasons, I. I thought the thread had run its course 2. Holly Hobby seemed to have summed things up in her last post and I took that as a friendly 'sign off' to the thread, 3. Finally, I did not receive notifications that a reply had been posted over the last few days, so I assumed there were none.
Anyway, I owe an apology to the board in general, for generally over egging it in my original post when I finished with what was meant to be a tongue in check flourish about being forced to sell my house. I realise now that it was a silly, overly dramatic thing to write, especially as it was not correct. Secondly to Tricky Dicky 101, I over reacted to your comment and took it entirely the wrong way. I thought you were effectively accusing me of being a scrounger expecting free hand outs from NW. I realise now that that was not what you were saying at all.
To Geoffken, no, I don't have 660k in easily available cash, but yes I do have enough to pay off the the mortgage on readily available deposit. I don't want to get into a my **** is bigger than yours debate, I am glad you take your four holidays a year, I am sure you have worked hard for them.
Thanks again for all the replies, even the not so serious ones :)

Thanks for coming back on again.
It really shows the danger of email as people can/do misinterepret the written word.
I hope you have some luck with NW

    Hi Geoffken
You are right about that, quite eye opening really.
Thanks for your best wishes, I am relaxed about it. I am going to wait until nearer the time, and then broach the subject with them. I expect them to say that they can extend, providing I can pay the monthly fees, but that it will obviously not be on the existing rate. That would be ridiculous of me to expect that.
Then it will be a straightforward calculation by me as to what makes the most financial sense, pay it off, or keep my money invested and receive what little interest is available at that time. Clearly at the moment the latter is the right way to go. In 3.5 years time?, I suspect the right thing to do will be to pay it off.

I don't think there was any mis-understanding from the readers part, but certainly there were 2 very different and conflicting scenerios presented, which is what the advice given was based on and why it altered mid-way through the thread.

Just felt it important to clarify that for any latecomers to the party - anyhoo the OP has recd the reqd guidance and has an idea what to expect when application for extension comes.
