    May/June election anyone?

    No benefit to the coalition.

Wait and see. Is a better stance.

People don't understand the detail. The figures were impacted by the closure of North Sea oil platforms!

    Yet its the Governments fault.......

    Give me strength.

if you take that out of the equation gdp still fell by 0.1% but why should we when its counted in when the figures are good?

I'm merely making the point that GDP has no bearing on everyday life i.e. the man in the street. The UK will recover grass roots up.

There's no magic wand. Where demand for Honda cars will increase for example, and 100,000 additional units will roll off the production line every year. The factory can cope with this. Would only require 1,500 direct employees to staff it as well. Yet boost to GDP in exports would be enormous.

You are soon to see the HUGE impact gdp figs have on everyday budgets - when the pound weakens, one of the first things to suffer is petrol! which is bought in dollars - lets see how that affects people trying to earn a living. 4p per litre rise - at first! 'Let he who is the most sceptical ignore the drive to fill the first petroil tank....'
