Local Comp + Effort = A Double Win!

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to put this here as I've won a prize which wasn't listed on MSE, but it might give some hope to those who haven't won anything for a while, so I thought I'd share my win with you.

After months of not winning anything, I followed this advice given elsewhere on this site:

- enter competitions in your local newspaper
- enter competitions which require effort

and it paid off!!! And to make it even better, my sister and I entered separately and we BOTH won 12 month gym memberships at a local gym, just for writing a paragraph about why we wanted to win and for being lucky (?) enough to have a BMI of over 28. Thanks for telling me about it, Sis.

The only problem is that we might need to drag ourselves away from this lovely Forum to spend more time exercising our bodies instead of just our fingers!

Well done! I hate BMIs. I'm 6 foot 4 and skinny but my BMI places me as obese..

(many years ago) I won a washing machine in a local competition... involved a bit of chasing as I later found out they had only 5 entries.

Thats really good. I try and enter local comps but not many pop up.
