Using my KitchenAid to save money

Hi

With weekend approaching I would love some OS ideas on what to make with my KA in order to save money.

The kids take packed lunches to school and I've been making and freezing batches of blueberry muffins but I think they're fed up of them now.

Has anybody got any ideas?

Tia
Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.

Sponge cake freeze's, so do scone's and you can do savory as well as sweet version's. Fruit cake will last at least a week in a tin.

Do they have to be KA based recipes only? Or are you trying to justify the cost of the machine against the savings you will make baking lol

Tbh, you can make any flavour sponge cakes or muffins. Lemon, spiced fruit, syrup, honey, ginger, chocolate, the list is endless

But a cake is a cake and I think the style of food soon gets boring, it's not just due to the flavour. So you need to think of various styles of food too

Flapjacks, cheese straws, Chelsea buns, flavoured breads, crispy cakes, biscuits, etc. most of these aren't KA based recipes but are good for pack up
  • Make your own bread using the dough hook. One loaf costs about 35p as opposed to supermarket @ £1.30.

I got one for Christmas and have been using it to make bread, hardly ever buy it now.

I also make cakes but tend to alternate between sponge cakes plain or chocolate etc, carrot cake, parsnip and golden syrup cake or a fruit cake.

I also make flapjacks, cookies that I make the dough and bake off fresh through the week, scones and dropscones.

I am going to try a ginger cake this week as havent made it for years
