Cheap chip shops and cafes in Leeds city centre

Will be going on holiday to leeds soon and just wondered if there are any cheap chip shops where chips are under £1.50 and cafes that have meals for under £3.

I'm in cloud scroogeland I've heard it's cheaper up north maybe it's a myth will find out.I expect some things are dear or the same price as everywhere else.

You could get your meal deal for free if you have enough points on your boots card that's if you have a boots card.

Leeds Market Cafes, before you look at the menu, look at the staff.

Not all are bad but the majority are.

Of course I care what I put in my body I love chips they are good for me don't get them very often so this is a treat and I'm on holiday going to have chips every day that's if they're nice and cheap. I don't even drink or smoke so I do care what goes in it.Heard they have gravy on chips up north only one chip shop down here has gravy so going to have gravy and maybe even a big pie.Might even get a mars bar in batter for afters.

Chips were edible but never bought them again bought fruity curry sauce ate some couldn't eat the rest.Sausage and batter was passable just.Expensive 2 handfuls for 1.50 woman didn't like me in shop no wonder shop has grave in the name.Never went to cafes went to bakerys like the ones in wakefield went in two within a minute.I love it up north people are nice they always smile even if you haven't spoken to them is that normal behaviour up there.Love the prices in Leeds market and everywhere else.Wish we had b and m shop down here and the bakerys.Best meat and potato pie I've had.

Morrisons has a hot counter, also there are a lot of cheap takeaway/cafe type things on New Briggate Road, just off the Headrow. If you want something a little classier, the Rose Bowl has a canteen on the bottom floor, and they have a daily meal deal for £1.99, it's really nice normally, but I'm semi-broke at the minute so........
