Hi all
I just thought it would be interesting to see what people's comping superstitions are?
I have quite a few, like I don't like anyone to touch my lucky 'comping' laptop :rotfl:
What are yours?

I don't check my twitter until the end of the day :P
I also put all the comps I really want to win out of my mind, then I'll get a win... :P
And I do a happy "yay" dance - for everyones wins as I think that good vibes spread around will mean the comping fairy will be kind to me
Rather than thinking OMG I HATE YOU for winning...whatever, I always think Yay for that person!x
December Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0 -
I don't have any, and as I don't know anyone in RL who comps it hadn't occurred to me that other people might. Be interesting to see how much of a superstitious bunch we are or aren't.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Mine is if a competition as a Captcha code and it includes a negative word then a refresh the code to get a new one.
Having said that though I've yet to win from ITV comps so maybe I should start typing them0 -
I dont enter contests I dont want to win, as I have horrid feelings I will win them
I almost died when I had an email to say I had won a prize from a beauty site, as I entered it without looking - and it was for botox!! Lucky I had a runner up prize...Wishing you all good luck!

Obviously I love to win something I want but I also love winning things I don't want or can't use and finding a nice home for them, it's not often you can know someone who is having a difficult time and say 'here have a free break away' or a free bunch of flowers to make them smile. This theory wouldn't work well for Botox though, no nice way of offering to someone even if you think they would like it :beer:Best wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card
Rehome an unwanted prize or gift with a seriously ill child through Postpals.co.uk0 -
I try to not look at my email account in order to make a WEM appear... I have crushed feelings about 10 times a day! :rotfl:0

I hop around my postbox 7 times with warpaint over my face before popping my postcards in the box

No, not really :rotfl:SECRET TO WINNING PRIZES:
If you see it in your mind, you're going to hold it in your hand.
Thoughts become things!
What you think about you bring about!
No one is ready for a thing until he believes he can acquire it.

I have to do my magazine dailies in the right order. After finishing with the comps on each magazine I allow myself to check either these comping pages or my email (I've just finished Woman's Own and am about to start on Marie Claire!)Would LOVE to win:
A hamper - any sort! A goody bag - any sort! A UK mini-break. A year's supply of something foodie. Anything Sci-Fi related
2013 wins - Cutting Room book, Rock n Rose necklace, £50 M&S voucher, Greggs coffee, £70 voucher for a Onesie0 -
With the 'Big' competitions I have to spend a minute or so imagining what I would do if I won. So for an ITV comp, I imagine what I'd spend the money on and how I'd telll my friends and with holiday comps I think about who I'd take!My new year's comping resolution is to spend more time entering the 'Effort competitions' properly!
Thank you everyone who posts comps and participates in the Forums :T0 -
I tell myself that I don't have superstitions but I suppose I do.
With the big money ones I always think of a smaller amount and tell myself that will do and how I will save for the big things then. Now that isn't superstitious itself but in the back of my head I am thinking that if I wish for a smaller amount it is more likely to happen and that If I wish for little I will get more!
Also, as someone else as mentions I don't enter competitions for things I don't want mainly as I wouldn't want to take it away from someone that does want it (so that means I don't enter any comps for IPads/Ipods/IPhones! although I would try and win something for my partner or parents if I thought they would love it) but in the back of my head I think that if I did enter for something I would then of course win it.Debt Free: 24/05/2013!!!!
2014: A years supply of Ecover washing up liquid, Phantom of the Paradise steelbook, A selection of Ojon goodies, £500 ASOS vouchers.0
