Home Insurance

Hiya,

I got a call today from my home insurance provider to ask if there are any changes to report before they do my renewal quote. I didn't realise that it was renewal time just yet so was just wondering if anybody can give me any tips as to where I might be able to find somebody to insure me. Will anybody accept pay monthly? I think I am going to struggle otherwise.

Thanks in advance

Just because they don't ask directly doesn't mean that that is going to be fine. There is usually a catch all phrase in the T&C's which means you are responsible for telling them all relevant information. They can refuse to pay out if you haven't told them you are BR.

Hi I understand what you are saying I always read all the terms and assumptions very carefully, I think a problem could occur with an existing policy and you do not think to imform them of the br, my car insurance had a clause that if you are br a claim would not be paid, I rang them and gave them all my details and they were fine to renew with them.
Its all doable just needs a bit of time to research.

co-op are fine, also HomeProtect (i got them through a price comparison site) offer insurance to bankrupts, I declared the bankruptcy to them. I pay monthly, through Premium Credit, but since the total premium price for the year the I'm going to pay is well under £500, I did not separately inform Premium Credit (that provide the credit for the monthly insurance payments for HomeProtect) that I am bankrupt.
I would imagine that if it was more than £500 I probably would have been best contacting premium credit in the process. However it would also seem reasonable to say that you informed of bankruptcy when applying for the product in general etc etc..

Anyway, Co-Op are brilliant anyway, just wanted to give the other option I'd found too. good luck x
