  • Reading this thread with interest as I am a mum to a boy born in 2000 too!

I'm thinking ... tickets to something that he can go to with a friend (now he's being allowed a little bit of freedom),

    a CD from 2000,

love the prints on 'Not on the High Street' where you can choose text to describe all the likes and special things of the recipient...though I've got time to source something cheaper but similar,

I want to put together a photobook of memories of him getting to 13 so looking out for photobook offers

    13 coins

    13 sweet treats

Some sort of 'Teenager' comedy style book ...lots on Amazon but need to take a look at them in Waterstones first to check suitability!

....will look out for other ideas & keep checking back here for other peoples additions!

Not sure about some of the suggestions on one of the threads I looked at above...condoms...noooo way at 13, my son is still enjoying being a kid!!!!!!!

    - Retro sweets or chocolate you know he likes
    - If he follows a specific tv series maybe shop some memorabilia like t-shirts, mugs etc.
    - lynx stuff

    Part of the Furniture
My eldest son was 13 in January and on request got lots of the Mega Blox Halo sets, they come in different price ranges. Even though they are Mega Blox these were made for the older kids and the pieces are similar sized to Lego.

Another option would be to get some of those individual or sets of practical jokes (the 'funny ones' rather than the stinky or cruel type). I got some for my son's stocking one year and they went down well.

I would also highly recommend the book, 'Holes' by Louis Sachar, it is brilliant!...

Thanks everyone, Halo is a great idea, I hadn't thought of that and I will definitely look at Truffle shuffle in a minute. He's now written me a list with a few bits on and I have put him together a "movie night" bag with his movies, some sweets, popcorn, pringles and a bottle of pop.

I can't believe the millenium babies are growing up, too. My boy's voice has suddenly dropped and he's just got braces so is well into being a teenager.
