@newskiller - yup that is the situation in all Tesco stores.
@addy - the reduced stickers have been used for a couple of years now and cancel out the original price without the person at the checkout having to manually enter it.
'Non-barcode' stickers are used for items that the system will not reduce, they are also used for items in produce which have to be manually reduced.0 -

I working in Tesco and in stock control and deal with this on a daily basis and thats how I know. Tesco headoffice were supposed to have changed this ages ago after numerous complaints from Tesco stores but nothing has been done about it as of yet,
So if you spot a reduced item that is BOGOF and the reduced price is below half price then tesco will end up oweing you money.
Thats the only reason the OP got the items at 1p! they were reduced.
The items I bought weren't reduced, the correct price was £1.99 each, but they were on a bogof. When they were scanned through the till, the second one which should have been free actually removed the price of 3, i.e. 3 x £1.99 = £5.96. I also bought some other things which made the total price of my shopping 1p which is why they noticed and called someone over to sort it out.
If the prices are set in all stores from a central department then this should work in all stores, until they sort out their prices.0 -
Reduced BOGOF items go through on the BOGOF deal at the reduced price, not the original price, in my local Tesco (Brooklands in Weybridge). Reduced 3 for the price of 2 & 2 for £x go through at the reduced price less the original discount. Trust me, I have thoroughly tested these theories!Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -

So now if they ask me to reduce something and are rude about it I just put it down by a couple of pence.
I wasn't rude...just asked why the item cost the same whether it was reduced or at full price.
i've worked at Tesco...I have been on the recieving end of some very unecessary flak too!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I DO believe you Lillibet, lol.
My experience with the nearly out of date satsumas that I mentioned earlier put me off experimenting more!
I wonder if how it works differs from store to store or area to area? That's the only thing I can think. Maybe I'll give it another go - maybe they've changed it since the great Satsuma debacle :rotfl:0 -

So, for buying 2 Finest Garlic Bread Pizzas, the nett refund was £1.99! I'm off to Tesco in a mo - will try this out in my store. £1.99 BOGOF for them is a good buy in any case, so no harm done if it doesn't work.
I will report back!0 -
My local Tesco aren't doing the Garlic Bread Pizzas at BOGOF, sob, sob!0
-
No Finest Pizza Garlic Breads in my store full stop.........too bad, I wanna relieve Tesco of some of that £2bn profit
No multibuy reductions worth having to re-test the reduction formula either.0 -
Been to my local Tesco Offer marked as BOGOF but it never scanned, so went to CS and they said the offer is now closed and the stickers shouldnt be still on them but she refunded me my £3.98 so if your stores are the same with the stickers still on then take them to CS:D0
