Can I claim for loss of earnings throu small claims court

Hi,
Before Christmas I ordered a bunk bed off an online company for my two daughters. When we put it together it had damage to the bottom bunk footboard. I contacted the company for an exchange and was told to send a photograph and part number in an email. The part was simply listed as 'bottom bunk bed board', so when I emailed the photo and part number I explained what the part was.
So, a few weeks after Christmas and after a few emails were exchanged (they wanted me to pack up the whole bed, which I refused), I was given a date to exchange the part. My husband is self employed and I work full time so OH had to take time off to wait for delivery. When the delivery arrived it was the wrong part, it was the side rails of the bed and obviously we were furious that OH had lost earning from work, so we had to ring the company who then got in touch with the warehouse again.
Yesterday, I contacted the company again to find out what was happening, they said the correct replacement part was being sent out this morning and so we separated the bunk beds and partially dismantled the bottom bunk to remove the part. My husband waited in again but this time they didn't turn up, when OH rang the company he was told that because they hadn't rang him half an hour before, he was to know that it was because they weren't coming!!
So, my question is, can we claim for loss of earnings through the Small Claims court?
Many thanks,
Mm
