Not Fixed - Fixed Price scheme
Hi,
can anyone explain how despite me signing up to a Fixed price scheme until October 2013...NPower can send me a letter saying the prices are going up as of March 2013..
how does that work?
and makes a mockery of tying yourself into a fixed price scheme..
tia.

But that is not a fixed price tariff
Customers on this tariff are guaranteed a 3% lower bill than npower’s Standard (off-line) variable prices until 31st October 2013.0 -
how is it not a fixed price...
sorry, just don't understand it all...i used a comparison website and specified 'Fixed' price deals..and this one came up..0 -
Because it is a tariff guaranteed to be 3% lower than their standard tariff. The standard tariff has increased so your tariff can rise accordingly.how is it not a fixed price...

Cannot comment on the comparison site, but you could have studied the T&C's before signing.0 -
All part of the Smoke & Mirrors of Utility marketing I'm afraid -
Your tariff is indeed "Fixed", but it is only Fixed in the sense that it is guaranteed to be a % below n'powers Standard tariff, which is a variable tariff that can go up at any time - Standard goes up, yours goes up - but provided yours is stll that % below Standard, n'power are working to the contract
But all is not lost
Because this price rise has disadvantaged you, n'power cannot hold you till the contracts end, nor charge exit fee's if you leave
But to Get-of-Jail free, you must write to them before the Price Rrise takes affect, saying you are rejecting the price rise and are changeing supplier.
With the rise not due till March, you have plenty of time to search the Switch sites for a better deal and write the letter0 -
thanks all..makes perfect sense now.! [headslap]0
