My shopping was delivered this morning and the chicken goes out of date on Sunday but I don't want to use it til Tuesday. I have never frozen a whole chicken before. How long will it take to defrost in the fridge?

I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

In this cold weather , leave it out in the sink Monday night
Mind it wouldn't kill not freezing it. Unwrap it, put in a pie dish on the bottom of the fridge. Change the dish daily as it will be the leaking blood that will cause it to smell0
