Just got home from picking kids from school,to find OH up (works nightshift) and talking on the phone.
When he had finished talking to them he explained they had phoned and said we were in arrears etc... and he told them that we were with payplan.
They said that was not good enough, my husband said we had no funds available to give them and that we were on a Dmp.My husband then went on to say could they please not phone him at work as they are risking his job.
Then it all started with the advisor from Northern rock starting to shout at him, saying that they can phone him where when ever they wanted too.
Had a letter already written( from a previous thread i had put up today ) to post to them.So husband told him about harassement etc, they then said they will phone three times a day, until this resolved.
Help what do we do next.?

Sorry they are giving you such a hard time, make sure you send the letter as soon as possible - until then, have you got an answering machine so you can screen your calls - or can you just unplug the phone when either of you is in bed? Don't panic, their bullying tactics are designed to make you feel exactly like this - don't give them the satisfaction of getting upset.
(((hugs))) to you xxx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Fraggle (sorry NORTHERN) Rock have huge arears accross the board, so I'm told, so they will pursure people that they feel they can bully (their reps will have targets to hit don't forget). Put everything in writing, and when they call, simply say that you ar not prepared to discuss it on the phone, and that they must write. Can they do a morgage review with you, to get the rates down, or could they tag the arrears onto the END of the mortgage to bring you 'up to date' and give you some breathing space? Does you DMP cover the current payments btw?0

If you have not sent the letter to Northern Rock there are several sections of the Debt Collection Guidence, as set down by the Office of Fair Trading, that you can quote
To deal with with how and when you can be contacted
2 UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES
Communication
2.1 It is unfair to communicate, in whatever form, with consumers in an unclear,
inaccurate or misleading manner.
2.2 Examples of unfair practices are as follows:
g. ignoring or disregarding debtors' legitimate wishes in respect
of when and where to contact them, for example, shift workers who
ask not to be telephoned during certain times of the day
With this part you can confirm that all contact is to be in writing and with Payplan
They can not say they will not deal with Payplan
Deceptive and/or unfair methods
2.7 Dealings with debtors are not to be deceitful and/or unfair.
2.8 Examples of unfair practices are as follows:
c. refusing to deal with appointed or authorised third parties, such as Citizens Advice Bureaux, independent advice centres or money
advisers
d. contacting debtors directly and bypassing their appointed representatives
e. operating a policy, without reason, of refusing to negotiate withdebt management companiesI am a debt counsellor working in the voluntary sector - we don't charge our clients for the work we do!0
