someone else using ebay/paypal/phone

Options
I am unsure if this is the right board to post on.

A colleague (not me thank goodness really!!) is having a nightmare with her ex using her accounts. Ages ago they had 2 phones on one account(mobiles) when they split the got his re-registered to him. Up to now her credit rating has been fantastic. He got the phone transferred back into her name without her knowledge and has not paid the bill for 4 months. He has then changed the password on her hotmail account. He has also been using her e-bay account to sell but never posting the items and routing the fund through her paypal account into his own account. She is now being chased by a debt collector on behalf of paypal. She has requested a statement of transactions from paypal but they keep sending it to the locked e-mail account. They are now saying they an't help until she reports it to the police but the police won't help until she has a list of transactions. Does anyone have any advice?

  • This is fraud I would contact the police.
Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?

Absolutely. A similar thing happened to me last year, and the police and bank were helpful. The Police paid him a visit and explained that going into my emails is fraud, and you need to contact paypal/ ebay again as soon as you have the all important incident number from the Police. You should get that immediately on the phone. Good Luck!
